Local Firms Celebrate National Indoor Comfort Week ® April 20-26
Winnipeg, MB – Area heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) firms are celebrating National Indoor Comfort Week® April 22-28.
Initiated by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) in 2003, National Indoor Comfort Week highlights the contributions America’s HVACR professionals make to their communities.
“Most of us take indoor comfort for granted,” said Brian Baker, President of Custom Vac Limited, “until the heat or air conditioning goes out! Yet these systems do more than keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer. No other industry or technology has had such a broad impact on modern American life as HVACR.”
“Refrigeration made possible by HVACR contractors enables us to enjoy an abundance of safe and delicious food from all over the world,” he said. “Plus, HVACR contractors are responsible for the ‘cold chain’ critical to medical research, diagnosis, and treatment.
“And HVACR contractors are even responsible for the technological and computer advancements that have made the American economy what it is today. These devices could not be manufactured if it weren’t for the ‘clean rooms’ and temperature-controlled environments designed by HVACR contractors.”
Nationally, the HVACR industry employs nearly 250,000 people in a variety of technical and management positions. These are skilled, well-paying jobs. Moreover, most ACCA member contractors are small, independent businesses, the backbone of our country.
“We are proud to have the opportunity to share with the rest of the country the positive impacts HVACR systems have on our lives,” Baker said. “And we are glad to have the chance to thank the hardworking technicians who make all this possible.”
ACCA represents the nationwide educational, policy, and technical interests of the small businesses who design, install, and maintain indoor environmental systems.
